Kentucky 31 Tall fescue is a Fescue cultivar (variety) selected for it's improved traits and ease of establishment from seeds in lawns. It is one of the older varieties with a light green, coarse texture. K-31 remains popular still because of it's lower price and good overall usage qualities. It is ideal for the average lawn use.

A fine-textured, cool-season perennial bunchgrass. Adapted to drought areas of the continental U.S. Grows on dry, sandy, gravelly or rocky soils. Drought tolerant. Has good heat resistance.
